My 12 year old has a new fascination
She did not realise that pop corn did not come from one of these
but could in fact be made by putting these
into a suitably sized saucepan with a little oil and heating
“This is how we made popcorn in the olden days” I jokingly told her.
A fact she proudly repeated to her brother this evening.

Whatever
but it sure is funny watching them come running to watch the kernels popping in the saucepan everytime I make some more!
lol. Does your popcorn jump out everywhere and the kids jump around to catch them? Ours do and it is funny.

I really should get back to making popcorn like that. Our airpopper has started burning the popcorn which smells nasty.

We used to do the saucepan popping too, but the bottom few kernels always stayed unpopped and burnt, peee-eewww! Now we do the microwave stuff. Just as yummy, no mess.

None of us get to use our inbuilt Death Ray Eyes to heat and pop the suckers as a party trick and to put the Fear Of The Death Ray Eyeball Enabled Mother into the kids?

Especially the kind ya get at the movie theaters with all that gross fake DELICIOUS butter and salt 
YUMMA! At home we just use microwave popcorn but I should also show this to my kids- they’d love it!

I just do not get popcorn. It’s tastless and dry and icky. I know, I am odd….
