I just wanted to clarify something.
A few of my close friends are having an argument with someone else and somehow ‘the coven’ and myself have been bought into it.
So just for Dina I wanted to clarify what the coven is and what it is not.
It is a group of friends who met online and formed a close knit circle of friendship.
At ‘the core’ of this group are myself, Widdle Shamrock and Anja. We have all known each other online for years and years. We met in chat rooms, bonded in forums and much later moved over to blogging.
The coven came to be called ‘the coven’ after WS was watching Charmed and was joking about us having ‘the power of three’ and there are three of us and it went from there. Besides the ‘three amigo’s’ was already taken 
Over time that circle expanded to include Jayne, then later Marita, Lisa and Naomi. That circle is now extended to those we regularly contact through our blogging community as well.
It is a group with many threads of commonality that bind us – sense of humour, relationships, children, challenging siblings, challenging parents, autism and learning problems, broken relationships, blended families, abuse, major health challenges. Not all of us have all these things in common, but there is always that familiarity that comes from being able to poke fun at big issues with other people who ‘know’ because they’ve been through their own challenges.
It is a group who, like real friends, don’t always agree, we sometimes argue and get the shits with each other and go off in a huff.
It is a circle of friendship that has crossed over from online to off line. Some of us have met already and there are hopes for more meetings as opportunity presents itself. Some of us chat when we can on the phone, some of us send the odd txt as well, there are numerous gifts posted at different times and of course we all frequent each other’s blogs.
It is a circle of friends formed by a group of women who needed it. Nothing more.
It is not a gang or a clique.
There is no pecking order, no Queen Bee and no drones.
There is no target, no agenda, no scapegoat.
An argument with one or two is not necessarily an argument with all because we all have our own minds and we use them. We all have our own morals, values and beliefs and the others can all respect that.
Perhaps you should do yourself a favour and not start attacking things you obviously don’t understand because I really don’t appreciate being dragged into your arguments with my friends.
I am feeling quite insulted to be called a drone and to have my integrity questioned through the implication that we all do whatever the ‘queen bee’ says.
Time to start putting a bit more thought into planning your comments and posts and a bit less of each individual thought into them methinks.
And no Magic Quilter – I wasn’t saying you were boring, I was saying the whole sad, sorry commenting argument drama was.

To a degree, I envy what you guys what you have.
Having said that, I do have a circle similar myself, so understand 150% where you’re coming from. If it eludes others, that doesn’t make it any less “so”
You guys keep doing what you do…screw the “others”….what you have is special…that I understand…Mark and I have spent close to 10k bringing our circle together which will happen in July…it will be SO worth it….

Hey B,
I totally understand what your ‘coven’ is all about. People of like minds and experiences do gravitate toward one another and it is only natural for them to form close ties and bonds. It’s a shame that there are those who don’t understand that and choose to attack rather than just get a grip on the reality of it. I did read Anja’s post, have to say, she had me rolling.
And btw, if you ever need a stand in drone, I’m your girl.

I knew you would ‘get it’ too. What other’s see on our blogs with our quips about the coven is only scratching the surface. There is so much more to it than just a group of women who roam the internet as a pack looking for a laugh and a place to vent.
