Screw Up Tuesday – the bumper school holiday and house moving edition!

screwuptuesdayp

oooo you are in for a treat today! We are just chockablock full of screw ups this week!

Sox, my beloved boy feline was a little freaked out by the whole “being locked in the bathroom while the house was stripped bare then going for a ride in the car” thing and peed on CJ during the 10 minute drive to our new house. The poor girl was horrified! I was laughing so hard I nearly had to pull up till I could get my laughter under control and stop the tears from streaming down my face.

Less than 24 hours in the new house and TJ had already stopped up the toilet with his excessive toilet paper use……….. and now I think about it the same thing happened when we moved into the old house too! Fortunately I now know how to fix such problems!

I also managed to flood the laundry………. which coincidentally happened in the old house too. This time however there was no flooding in other rooms as well as we have floor drainage in this house and the problem was easily remedied.

On Thursday while Lou and TJ were at archery, CJ and I were picking up loose odds and ends from the house and found ourselves a kilometre down the road before realising that we’d each thought the other had shut the back of our wagon and things had fallen out. The couple of items that had fallen out were picked up my one of PSLS’s work mates who knows full well who I am and felt quite comfortable making jokes at my expense at me. I can’t wait to hear what is said to PSLS at work today about it *rolls eyes*

On Friday we had the most inconvenient blunder though. We rang all our utility providers before Easter to organise for our power, gas and phone to be switched over on Wednesday last week. That all went smoothly. We had power, gas, phone and internet at the new house by 10am on moving day……….. only to have Telstra switch our phone and internet and mobiles phones all off on Friday for non payment of our bill. Now the thing is that hubby explained to all the utility providers that we wouldn’t be making our regular fortnightly payments last week because of the whole moving and needing to come up with bond money debacle and made arrangements to catch up our bills over the next 3 pay weeks. Telstra forgot to make a note on our account……… because they are slack asshats. I dunno. They charge you nearly double for your services claiming that they are the ‘premium service’ and give you better assistance, but I’ve never had half the problems with other service providers that we’ve had with Telstra. And if they dare charge us reconnection fees for the home phone and internet twice in the one week and charge us for reconnecting our mobile phones in our next bill I’m gonna go ballistic!

On Saturday night the kids tried to go the takeaway shop around the corner to get hot chips to go with tea only to discover that they shop had closed at 2pm. That was fine except that they didn’t read the sign next to the Saturday one that said that the shop would be closed again on Sunday after 2pm until they got there to try again on Sunday night!

Apart from that we have the usual inconveniences of moving – not knowing where things have been put, people helping us pulling things apart that didn’t need to be (like the worm farm) and then not being able to find all the bits (like the lid for the worm farm), things making their way to the new house that should have gone to the tip, having people packing the cleaning supplies to go to the new house and then not being able to find them at the old house, PSLS not shutting the door properly and letting the cats out (we don’t want them trying to navigate highways and a river trying to go home to the old house),  having to pull the damn oven to pieces to clean it only to have it mess itself back up again as it was put back together and cleaner leaked out of the gaps onto parts already cleaned.ARGH!!!! Drove me farkin nuts!

And CJ somehow managed to ‘accidently’ throw $2 up onto the house roof.

How do you accidentally throw money up onto a roof I’d like to know?

But then I’d really like to know how the damn demon spawn kids  have managed to stay alive this week with all their damn deafness and forgetfulness and downright stupidity cos even if they haven’t seriously hurt themselves yet I’m so damn close to killing them it’s not funny anymore!

So what do you have for me this week?

Add your name and leave a comment and I’ll be around to visit as soon as I take some Valium!

We had a blocked toilet once, we thought it was our son using too much paper. Plumber was called and said no, toilets are designed to flush almost anything and to prove it he unrolled half a roll and flushed it while we stood and watched. We never did find out what caused that blockage. How did you manage to flood the laundry?

Telstra are evil. I hope never to deal with them again.

My screw up for this week was forgetting to put the esky out for Aussie Farmers Direct. They delivered the bacon, bread, tortilla wraps and eggs as per usual this morning but no esky, so the delivery guy just left them all on the door step. Delivery is made before 6am so he glad they didn’t ring the doorbell looking for the esky.

Walked outside to and found a group of crows on my front step fighting over the bacon, bread, tortilla wraps and broken eggs scattered all over. Ick.

My lovely husband cleaned it up.

Moving sucks dead dingo’s balls. Glad you survived with no deaths in the family.

Oh my goodness you have been busy! Moving is such an ordeal. Hopefully by the time you read this things will be settling down for you better. I had to laugh with you about the cat peeing on your daughter – that is exactly what would happen to me I’m sure. Cats are such high strung nervous things and I’m sure the whole experience freaked him out royally. I hope he is adjusting now. So now all you need to do is try not to kill the kids because the last thing you need is a media circus over there while you are trying to settle in. LOL. Hang in there.

Beet, if you do happen to kill the little ones at least they’ll make dandy fertilizer for that new garden you plan on putting in!! Lots of nitrogen to start things off right, eh? LOL

Good luck, dear. Things will smooth out in their own sweet time.
    *hugs*

    Hey B!
Wow, sounds like a really fun moving week. Don’t you just hate the internet/cable providers? They are all asshats, worldwide I think. They are ever so helpful when they are writing up your order but when it comes to fixing anything, they are absolute boobs. Please don’t kill the children, you’ll miss them after you’ve had a drink and your valium.
