Stuff It

Cos that’s what we are doing.

Stuffing stuff into boxes and bags and suitcases and laundry baskets and clothes hampers and the whole idea of being ‘organised’ to move……. we are stuffing that too!

Sigh. I really, really, REALLY wanted to be organised. To have boxes of like items neatly and carefully packed in labelled boxes but typically it has been one fuck up after the next and god only knows where anything is at this point of the game.

First we couldn’t get enough boxes. We went to raid the local supermarkets and all their boxes were already crushed and on pallets to be picked up. No problem, we went to raid the box bin of the local department store……… we got enough to make a good start, but not enough of the bigger size boxes that we needed so after a few days we were at a bit of a standstill.

Then it rained.

And no ones boxes were any good after that.

The kids have been spectacuarly unhelpful. The girl’s bedroom floors could still not be seen as of lunchtime today. It is only this evening when the move is imminent that they have decided to make any serious effort.

Also of concern is PSLS’s work schedule this week. After a slack few weeks where he has been home more days than not, this week it’s reversed. We only have tomorrow to move the heavy stuff and Saturday to clean the old place up.

And my hip has been playing up.

And it’s been raining. Every day since Friday.

As much as our area needs rain, it’s not the best thing to be happening when we are moving mattresses, furniture and particuarly the piano.

GAH!!!

*takes a deep breath*

Tomorrow will be fine and we will get moved

Tomorrow will be fine and we will get moved

Tomorrow will be fine and we will get moved

*goes off to stuff more bags and boxes*

——————————————————————————————–

All going well I should be back online sometime tomorrow night. We made arrangements late last week for our phone and internet to be converted by lunchtime on Wednesday. Here’s hoping it all goes according to plan.

Sounds like my kind of packing. I still have boxes here unpacked that have little bits and pieces from every room in the house in LOL

Shame I can’t email boxes…still have alllll my empty ones. We were lucky and could get as many as we wanted from manpets work.

Fingers crossed, I hope everything goes well with the move. Jealous that you will have your net on so soon!

Good luck getting everything packed, moved, unpacked and put away! Just do one thing at a time and remember that it WILL be done at some point. :)

Oh best of luck with the move, I hope you are having the same sunshine as us today. Aside, I find Freecycle a great place to source moving boxes – should you ever need them again!

The only kind of packing is the “stuff it” form of packing.
Hope the weather holds off for you, B, and you move in one piece!

Here’s hoping it all runs smoothly. Might be time to get a bit of mummy kick ass on those kids. You don’t want to be wiping yourself out while they argue in the background.

Sounds like when we moved. Remember that? I was an hysterical MESS.

MPS decided to tell me the day before the move that he was starting his course the next day and I was on my own to move everything and keep a very confused and angry Boo entertained.

He nearly died that day. Luckily I didn’t have time, nor a box big enough to stuff his body into.

Hope things are going more smoothly for you now babe and look forward to seeing pics of the new house!

Well, it’s Wednesday here now, and I know you’re too busy rummaging through all those boxes desperately trying to find cans of soup and/or pyjamas, you won’t be having time to relax for a while yet, so I’ll do the relaxing for you. Okay? I have my feet up, a dish of broken up Easter Choccie and a mug of hot Milo, all with your name on them. I’m relaxed as a newly fed baby. Do you feel calmer now?
